Preheat oven to gas mark 3/ 170°c
Place dry ingredients in a bowl and add water, honey, treacle and olive oil (if using).
Working quickly, beat to mix altogether. Once all the lumps have disappeared, pour the mix into the loaf tin and place in the oven for around an hour.
It's done when a skewer comes out clean.
Ingredients:
150g self raising flour
50g oats
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
100g sultanas
50g chopped dates
125ml water
1 tsp honey
2 tbs malt extract
1 tbs treacle or molasses
Splash of olive oil (optional) Equipment:
