Red Cabbage with Chestnuts

Cooking Instructions:
Heat oil in a large frying pan or wok. Add onion and cook until soft. Add the red cabbage and fry for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously. The cabbage should have wilted down and cooked through whilst retaining some texture. Add the chestnuts and cook for a further 2 minutes.

Melt the butter in a separate pan, add the apple and cook over a gentle heat until soft.

Add the apple, vinegar and brown sugar into cabbage mixture and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
Ingredients:
Oil for frying
1 x medium red onion, finely sliced
1 x medium red cabbage, shredded
200g chestnuts, cooked & peeled
¼ tsp grated nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
15g butter
1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and sliced
1 tbsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp light muscovado sugar
