Black Bean Burgers

A great alternative to the good ol' American beefburger or hamburger, whether you are a vegetarian or not.

Pre-heat oven to 190°C
In a mixing bowl, mash the beans until broken down but still with some texture.
Add the chopped onion & garlic and mix together thoroughly.
In a small mixing bowl whisk together the egg, spices and Tabasco.
Stir the egg mixture, breadcrumbs and coriander into the bean mix thoroughly until the burger mixture hold together.
Divide into 4 equal size burgers.
Place on a greased baking tray and bake for around 20 minutes, turning half way through the cooking time.

Black Bean Burgers are fantastic! deliciously moist and you can add whatever spices and herbs you like to the mixture. Veggie heaven !
1 x 400g tin black beans, drained and rinsed
1 x medium white onion, finely sliced
2 x cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 medium red chilli, de-seeded and finely chopped
1 x egg
1 tsp ground cumin
1½ tsp Tabasco sauce
60g white breadcrumbs
1 x small bunch coriander, chopped
