Spanish chicken and chorizo soup

I make this soup on a cold day when I have a cold as it is nose wateringly good. It clears my passageways very well! No. of Servings:

Brown chicken, chorizo and veg in a heavy pan with a little oil as the chorizo will release its own fat as it heats. Add smoked paprika, thyme, garlic, saffron if using,tomatoes and stock. Bring to boil and then simmer for the remaining time.
At end, remove chicken pieces and chorizo and blend roughly. Return the meat and serve with crusty bread for dipping or stir in some left over rice.
Ingredients:
1 breast chicken, cubed
2 cooking chorizo sausages, cut into coins
One onion, finely diced
One pepper, finely diced
2 large carrots, cut into coins
1 tin chopped tomatoes
500mls water with 1 heaped teaspoons stock granuiles or same amount in good homemade stock
tsp smoked paprika
tsp fresht hyme leaves
2 cloves garlic, crushed
pinch saffron (optional)
Bread or cooked plain rice to serve.
