Creamy Irish pears

This came about using store cupboard ingredients and a good season of pears everyone loves it No. of Servings:

1.heat oven to 180c/350f/gas4
2.first I'n a leg bowl fill with 3pts cold water add lemon juice.peel pears and place I'n bowl of water to keep colour.
Also core the pears
3.drain the pears and arrange them cut side down I'n a baking dish.
4.combine the thick cream,sugar,vanilla or almond essence and a pinch salt and pour over pears.
5.bake I'n the oven for 25/30 mins,or until the pears are tender but not mushy.To serve transfer to serving dish and spoon over sauce sprinkled with toasted almonds either hot or cold . Enjoy
